Inspired by the Past
Instantly recognizable as Alessandro Michele’s Gucci, thanks to the bag’s bold double G logo, it’s this emblem that fuses Gucci’s past and present all at once. Inspired by an iconic House code that was originally introduced in the 1970s, it was Michele who brought this motif back with the brand’s fall/winter 2016 collection. The details
The bag itself is fairly simple – a crescent-shaped silhouette with a strap that can be adjusted; its lines are clean and curved.
While many of Gucci handags feature intricate details, cool shapes, and bold embellishments, the Aphrodite is more understated. Understated but still inherently Gucci, the Aphrodite is defined by its gold GG detailing, fundamental to Michele’s time at the House, inspired by an important House code from the 1970s.
